In communities where hunger, loss, and silence often go unseen, Grateful Heart Foundation exists to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity — one life at a time.
"Behind every outreach is a story — a child who smiles again, a widow who feels seen, a student who finds hope."
Grateful Heart Foundation was established in 2019 with a simple but deeply rooted desire — to respond to the growing needs within our communities with compassion, consistency, and purpose.
What we saw was not just poverty, but people being overlooked. Widows who had quietly lost their means of survival. Children growing up without guidance or basic necessities. Young girls navigating unsafe environments without knowledge to protect themselves.
What began as feeding 1,000 people has grown into a movement — today reaching over 200,000 lives across multiple Nigerian states. Every program is created in response to a specific, real need, with the goal of both immediate relief and long-term value.
Read Our Full StoryMillions of families, children, and students across Nigeria go without a guaranteed meal daily. Hunger directly affects health, learning, and wellbeing — and we respond at scale.
Many widows navigate life without any support system, facing financial hardship and emotional isolation. We provide care, raw materials, and ongoing empowerment.
Without proper education on body awareness and personal boundaries, young girls are left vulnerable. We go into schools to fill this critical gap.
Each program was born from a real need observed in our communities — not assumptions, but lived realities we witness every day.
Large-scale feeding outreaches across Nigerian states — grown from feeding 1,000 to tens of thousands annually. Ensuring no one goes unseen, unvalued, or unfed.
Financial and emotional support for widows navigating life under extremely difficult conditions — raw materials, grants, and the assurance that they are not alone.
Providing meals to primary school students across Lagos — ensuring every child can learn without the distraction of hunger.
We are grateful for the organisations, government bodies, and individuals who stand with us — providing resources, access, and shared commitment to change.
Every contribution — regardless of size — plays a role in reaching more people
and sustaining the programs that continue to make an impact.
Grateful Heart Foundation was established in 2019 with a simple but deeply rooted desire — to respond to the growing needs within our communities with compassion, consistency, and purpose.
At the time, what we saw was not just poverty, but people being overlooked. Widows who had quietly lost their means of survival. Children growing up without guidance or basic necessities. Young girls navigating unsafe environments without the knowledge to protect themselves. These were not distant issues — they were realities happening around us every day.
The foundation did not begin as a large organisation. It started with small acts of giving — reaching out, feeding a few people, supporting where we could. In 2019, we carried out our first major outreach, feeding 1,000 people. That moment became a turning point. It revealed both the scale of the need and the importance of consistency.
From that point forward, we made a commitment — not just to give, but to grow. Each year, the reach expanded. What began as feeding 1,000 people grew to 10,000, then to 40,000, and eventually to over 100,000 individuals reached through our feeding initiatives alone.
Today, the foundation has impacted over 200,000 lives across multiple states in Nigeria. At its core, Grateful Heart Foundation exists to restore dignity, provide support, and create opportunities for those who need it most — not just once, but continuously.
We see people first. Every program is built on the understanding that dignity matters as much as the material support we provide.
We don't show up once. Our programs are monthly and annual — sustained, reliable, and designed for long-term impact.
Each initiative is created in response to a specific, real need observed in our communities — not assumptions, but lived realities.
Long-term impact requires ongoing support, collaboration, and resource management. Every project is designed with real change in mind.
Impact is stronger together. We work with individuals, organisations, and institutions that share our commitment.
We don't just provide — we equip. Whether it's raw materials, education, or emotional support, we help people stand stronger.
Whether through sponsorship, volunteering, or partnership — there is a place for you in this work.
Every program was created in response to a specific need, with the goal of providing both immediate relief and long-term value.
The Feed the Nation initiative remains one of the most significant expressions of our commitment. Developed in response to the widespread issue of hunger affecting families, children, and students in higher institutions — for many, a single meal is not guaranteed, directly affecting health, learning, and wellbeing.
Through this program, the foundation organises large-scale feeding outreaches across different states, including annual Christmas feeding projects and targeted community distributions. Over the years, this has grown from feeding 1,000 people to reaching tens of thousands annually.
Beyond the numbers, the goal has always been to ensure that people are seen, valued, and supported in a way that preserves their dignity.
Created after recognising the level of financial and emotional hardship many widows face. Often left without support systems, they are forced to navigate life under extremely difficult conditions — grief layered with poverty, without a safety net.
Through this initiative, the foundation provides raw materials, financial support, and consistent care — empowering widows not just with resources, but with the knowledge that they are not alone and that they are truly seen.
Many young girls grow up without proper education about their bodies, personal boundaries, and how to recognise inappropriate behaviour. This lack of knowledge leaves them vulnerable in environments that should be safe.
By going into schools and engaging directly with students, the foundation provides age-appropriate education on body awareness, consent, and personal safety — empowering young girls with knowledge that protects them.
Providing meals to primary school students across Lagos — ensuring that no child has to face a school day on an empty stomach. Education is only possible when basic needs are met, and we believe every child deserves to learn without the distraction of hunger.
This project works in close coordination with schools and local partners to deliver nutritious meals consistently, supporting attendance, concentration, and the overall health of children in our communities.
Extending care to widows and families affected by loss — those who gave everything so others could live in safety. We honour their sacrifice by ensuring their families do not carry that burden alone.
In partnership with the Nigerian Army, this program delivers tangible support to the families left behind, recognising that service and sacrifice deserve ongoing care and commitment.
